Question Help!!! Transmission Solenoids Replacement in Vehicle

Hi I was wondering if anybody has attempt to replace the solenoids on the S80 6L non turbo. I got the new ones from the local dealer and started to take the car apart. But it looks like there is no room for the Tranny's cover to come out. If anybody has done this job with out pulling the tranny out Please help. The axle is out and tomorrow am going after the rest. Any advices would be appreciated Thanks all. parts I got 2x 9480636-1, 1x 9480638-7 & 1x 30681205-8

You'll have to support the engine with a hoist then remove the motor & transmission mounts. You can lower the transmission enough to get the cover off. Are you sure the solenoids are bad? Here's some good info on these tranny's: Volvo S80-XC90
