I was driving normally to work, I pressed on the gas pedal, and it wouldn't go any faster, all the lights on the dash turned on, then came to a stop. No warning. It clicks when I try to turn it on.
I started my car to heat it up before I left, and it started fine.
Does anybody have a idea before I have it towed to a mechanic?

 

I would guess a bad alternator and a dead battery, but there could be many other reasons as well.
