high beams not working
Hello all,
I am new to these forums and wanted to ask a quick question. First of all, I would like to say that I am driving a 1999 Volvo S80 with 80270 miles on it. Last week, I had a problem with my Voltage regulator which left me stranded in the middle of know where. I got the regulator replaced at my local Volvo dealership, which seemed to fix all the problems I had with the car except one. While my regulator was giving up, It was sending voltage to unnecessary parts that I did not need to use at the time. For example, my high beams came on by themselves, all the gauges inside the car brightened up, and so on and so forth. Eventually, my high beams went off, but I could never turn them back on. Also, once I received my car from the dealership, everything worked fine, except for my high beams which refuse to come on. The indicator light on the dashboard comes on, but the lights themselves don't. I wanted to check them myself to see if they were busted, but don't know how to get them out to examine them. Also, I don't know which fuse to check to see if they came on either. I just got this car in October of this year and had only had it for 36 days prior to the regulator going out, so I don't know the first thing about getting the high beam light bubs out. Sorry for the book of a story, but I just wanted to give all the whole story so that someone might be able to help me in the best way. Thanks.
