I have a 2008 S80...car won't start...brake pedal very firm.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass depressing the brake pedal step...in order to start the vehicle by only pressing the Start button (with the key FOB in the key recess)?

I've searched YouTube...and being able to do this seems to be fairly common with other car models...but I cannot seem to find steps/instructions for a 2008 Volvo S80 (or any other Volvo).

With most other cars this is possible by pressing the Start button once (to put the vehicle into "Accessory" mode)...then pressing & holding the Start button a 2nd time for a certain number of seconds (this seems to vary depending on car model from 5, 15, 30 seconds of holding the start button). I tried all of these...with no luck.

Would be great if this were possible. If you know the procedure to bypass pressing the brake pedal to start the car...I'd love to hear the details.

As mentioned in post #1...after days & days of researching...never found a way to bypass depressing the brake pedal to start 2008 Volvo S80 (even though lots of other auto models do have a procedure for this).

Problem for me was a bad starter. New starter installed...car started right up.
