Default Installation of GPS Car Tracker

Need to install a GPS tracker which requires:

1. Connecting to ignition, 12v power, and ground
2. Placement under dash as close to windshield as possible.

Any help in how to best connect to ignition and how to place under dash would be appreciated.

Don't know what year you have but on my 99, I would remove that grille cover on the top-center of the dash and install it beneath the dash (that's close to the windshield) and hook the power supply to the fuse panel (#19 says "spare 30amp supply"... I'm sure there's some that are constant and switched) Finding a ground shouldn't be hard.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is a 2002 S-80.

The grill on the top is just a cloth-covered piece of plastic. My daughter has the car right now so I can't look at it, and I can't remember what's under it, but I believe it's a speaker??? That being the case it wouldn't fit there.

The power it needs to connect to is 12v... is that 30 amp 12v?

Also, any ideas on how to access the ignition wire to connect to?

I'm curious so I took my grille cover off. There's nothing under there... no connectors.. nothing. The only thing I see is there's a wire that connects to one of the tabs for the cover (???) It looks like there's some room in there.
Fuse #19 (spare) is a constant 12 volts. As for the ignition, I cant help you there. Maybe look for a fuse that has power when the ignition is on. I've never been one for cutting into ignition switch wires on newer cars.
