Question for you.

I've got a '99 S80 T6. I am losing a fair amount of oil, and I think that it is coming from the turbo oil return lines.

I understand that the replacement procedure is significantly more difficult on the S80 than on some of the other vehicles.

I have a mechanic friend that will be helping me with the process. I have seen a few guides that you have published for doing this on some of the other vehicle models, but I'm not sure if any of those instructions would apply to this model or not.

I would really appreicate it if you could either post a link to the general procedure that I should follow to do this on the S80. Or, if you haven't previously published it, tell me the steps I should follow to get this taken care of.

It is a major pain to do on the S80.
The last couple of times I did them it was from the top of the engine that I accessed the bolts and the pipes.
You can usually get the right side one from the bottom. The left side one is the one that is a real pain in the A**.
Take your time and it shouldn't be all that bad.

I realized that it wasn't going to be easy.

Any tips on the left side to make it doable? What all should I pull off to get the best access?

 

You might want to remove the aluminum pipes to make it easier.
