Default Oil not coming from turbo return line??

Hi Guys,

Had the volvo v70 2.4t into the mechanic's to replace the turbo return line gasket & O ring..
Well that's not the problem ?, i went down to the shop, the car was on the hoist, the oil leak is coming from the left hand side of the engine just under all the belts, Crank Case? Just on the inside of the wheel under all the belts.. Oil builds up on the tray and leaks out right next to the wheel, Sorry i can't be more specific, my knowledge of volvo's is limited!!
I would like to know a bit more about this problem so if anyone can help i would appreciate it.
My mechanic said the leak was not too bad, he went on to say that all volvo's leak oil.. old or new they all leak is this right...if so i'm going to go crazy..
Thanks
Jamie

How many miles are on the car?
It could very well be A Cam seal leaking.
Did you have an oil change done recently?

It should be about 4 to 5 hours.
I would have them do the timing belt and tensioner and idler at the same time to be safe.

Tech, if not fixed straight away will it damage the engine ?
Also why in you last post did you say "to be safe"

You can let it go for a little but I wouldn't wait to long.

The reason I said to be safe is because I have seen the tensioner and/or Idler pulley lock up and come apart at an early milage and throw the timing belt. Then it bends Valves and costs about $2000.00 to $3000.00 to fix.

They will already be there replacing the belt so it will be no more labor. Just the cost of the parts.
