Default Instrument Cluster Lighting

RE: 2001 S80 T6

Existing lighting is perfect...HOWEVER, visibility during daylight hours is poor. I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually changed out the LED bulbs (instrument cluster only to include computer display) to improve daytime lighting. (Other vehicles which have white on black are excellent during daytime hours)

Is it possible? I'm getting mixed signals on the viability. The Volvo dealership says all the instrument lights are already clear, but EEuroparts claims they're clear with a "rubbery" green cover.

Thank you in advance for any advice.....

the lighting is not through LEDs. they are small builds and they do have a greenish tint to them. I have replaced a couple in my heater/AC controls.

Here's half an answer to your question. Has anyone changed their lights to LED's? Yes!

Can you make them brighter? I don't know, although the poster mentions some brighter LEDs in some locations.

I have been thinking of converting mine to blue for awhile because I hate green lights, just found the above tutorial and remembered your question.

Looks easy enough and cheap enough to try though.
