interior material coming off
OK. I have a 1999 S80 non turbo. On the inside of the car on both sides right where the windshield meets toe side of the body the material is coming off the car. i took it into an upholstery place and to my surprise he pulled off the whole panel in just a few seconds on each side of the car. I am adding a picture. He is gluing it back but said it probably wont last. Any ideas on where to get this panel ?

I had the same problem with my 2000 S80 nonturbo. Ended up removing the panel on the driver side and gluing the cloth material with Permatex Heavy Duty Headliner & Carpet Adhesive. That was approximately 6 months ago and it seems to be holding. Will be doing the panel on the passenger side soon following the same technique.

I believe you are referring to the A-pillar covering fabric.
This is very common on bimmers and volvos and others. Its the unnatural heat. If your car sits in the sun it will peel sooner. I just glued my wifes apillar back on last month and seh has a 01 but no garage at work, although she always puts up windshield screen.
You can pop off the panel A,B betweeen the doors, or the C in back, with varying degrees of ease and pull fabric off to some deggree and spray with 3-M spray adhesive from car parts store, designed for temp extremes. If you are careful, you can sometimes with a little practice do this well. Other wise, buy the piece at the dealer for $60 to 90.
It can be a pain.
