Default Its transmission time!

So, I finally ordered everything my car needs, trans included. All new front suspension + guaranteed trans = $1400. Cheaper than a new car!

One final question, and yes, I'll post pictures of the job...Is there any computer sorcery that I have to deal with when I install the new trans? '01 s80 T6, putting a trans in from an '03 T6.

make sure the Part numbers match.

When you are in there, replace the rear main. While everything is apart, replace the flame trap, and radiator hoses. Be VERY careful with the speed sensor at the bell housing. be super careful with the flexplate. the Torx for the torque converter are a pain in the *** to remove sometimes, patience is key, don't round the head off.

Not sure if you are working on the ground or a lift, but I have don't it many times both ways, on 80s 70s 60s 40s and XC series. They are all relatively the same procedure.

if its you first time and you want to look up book time. Its 12+ hours depending on year and model -- in and out and back on the road. You should double that.

just ask if you got a question.

Thanks. It'll be done in a shop, and with a lift. I'd imagine that would make things a little bit easier. It's more of a project, not a main car in any means so it should definitely be interesting.
