Hi there, I was disappointed yesterday when I drove 30 minutes to pick up a mini fridge I found on craigslist because my rear doors wouldn't open wide enough. I came home and looked at the hinges and I noticed there is a metal piece fastened to the body of the car that seems to be limiting the range of the rear doors. If I were to remove this (temporarily) do you think it would cause any permanent damage, is there another purpose for this piece. I got into a wreck in my car on tuesday. That piece is now completely broken in half and I have had no ill effects. The door opens and closes fine but do it at your own risk

 

Wow, what a coincidence, does the door open any wider, at least 90 degrees?
