new owner, how to clear codes
Hey, just bought a 99 s80 t6. I have check emissions blah blah, srs air bag and brake failure messages. Car works well, so I just want to clear the codes. I want to do it myself, what scanner should I buy, or is there a good samaritan in the Chicagoland area that is willing to help?
All help is appreciated. Thanks!
Also, the rear left light doesn't work, not for running or for brakes, any tips?

for resetting the CEL, i've heard places like autozone may be able to do it--never tried myself.
for the dead light, and assuming you have looked at all fuses (which are scattered all over the car), check the relays in the trunk (behind the panel on the left side of the trunk. Several posts on brake lights going out and a dead relay was the issue.

First, you need to fix the codes, then clear them. If you don't it will keep comming on, plus there is always a reason for the code.
Second, you need to check your EVAP system. This is located under the car. (fuel lines, vaccum, etc.) This leak could be so small that you can't see it with the naked eye. Therefore, I suggest using a smoke machine.
As far as your other codes, Check all fuses, relays, etc.
Be sure to repost what you find, would be glad to hear it.
