Default NGK SPARK PLUG #

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT NGK SPARK PLUG NUMBER A 1999 S80 2.9L WOULD TAKE? SINCE I WORK AT A MOTORCYCLE SHOP AND WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF NGK PLUGS IN-STOCK AND I GET THEM PRETTY CHEAP I FIGURED IT WOULD NOT HURT TO REPLACE MY PLUGS, I'M JUST NOT SURE WHAT PLUG NUMBER TO USE SINCE I DO NOT HAVE MY OWNERS MANUAL OR VADIS HERE AT WORK. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I BELIEVE I FOUND THEM:

BKR6EGP OR BKR6EIX OR STANDARD BKR6E ---ALL THREEGAPPED AT 0.032

IF ANYONE COULD JUST VERIFY THIS IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED!

call advance, and ask them to use their system to see which ngk's are compatible, or even use amazon's system for doing that... may answer your question

honestly, if you have to pay bosch is definitely your best bet for plugs.. but if you can get them free then its up to you

I have always used Bosch in my Fords (Mustang and Explorer) but I figured for less than $1.00 / plug I would try the NGK's in the Volvo first. Motorcycle wise the distributors don't carry much other than NGK and Splitfire (what a gimmick Splitfire is) so I am going to try the NGK's. Anyone else tried NGK in their S80?

BTW: Thanks for the link

I just bought a set of 6 new plugs, went top of the line though, bosch IR fusions... about 8 dollars each.. I dont mind though because I havent really had much expense on the car so far...

I actually use NGK on my 97 honda accord so i always have this mental image of ngk being for japs and bosch for europeans... just seems to fit haha

Any particular reason you never used them in the Volvo? I got some today but haven't put them in yet (darn weather).

When I needed the plugs after buying the Volvo it was just easier to get them from work. Cheap and right there.

I eventually went back to advance to trade the 2 bosch's they gave me with the wrong model number... now it looks like il have to wait until i get back from canada in about 2 weeks to do the work on the car.. at least i know itl be sitting down in the meantime.

I think spark plugs or most parts to a large part are like tyres.. every company has their own full range... say michelin vs good yr vs continental etc

Each company has a basic cheap line, a mid range line, a high performance line etc...
i figure its the same with spark plugs, once you a quality line from any of the major manufacturers, aka not the cheapest one they have, go for mid- upper, you should be fine... doesnt matter if its champion, ngk, bosch etc
