Lightbulb Odometer Blackout

Re: 2001 S80, T6
That information box in the middle of the speedometer that shows your mileage, trip mileage and when your cruse control is engaged went black on me. Is there an easy way to bring it back to life? Everything else on the car works; head lights, tail lights, brake lights, radio, power seats and windows, turn signals, heated seats, speedometer, tach, guages, etc.

The small light bulb behind it went out. An easy fix. Do a search on removing the cluster as someone has a video showing how easy to remove.

It turned out to be a crystal malfunction. To fix it, the dealer says I need a new instrument cluster at $1,300 plus instalation. I can find a used one, but it would need to be reprogramed to meet my car's specs, whatever that means. I talked to a reputable body shop and they confirmed. Pluging in a new(used) one could cause the car to fail to start, it could even set off the air bags. The present odometer is still recording the mileage, its just that I need to shine a flashlight on it to read it.
