You can, but I guess it all depends on what type of oil your running, and what it is rated for.

Some are rated for higher mileage. Also if your running regular oil you should change it ever 3k to 3.5k.

The Volvo reccomendations are supposed to be 7,500 for your car.

BUT!!!! This is how we do it at the shop. If it is a Turbo every 3,000 miles. If it is Non-Turbo then 5,000 miles using Synthetic blend.

I pay about 65 dollars for a synthetic oil change. You can take it to the dealer, but they will probably charge a little more for the oil change.

Synthetic blend is semi-synthetic oil.

You should be able to pay about $35.00 to $40.00 for semi-synthetic.

I would say Dealer or a Shop that uses a Volvo Filter.
Synthetic is the best but you can get what you want.

I reccomend synthetic.

I have been using Amsoil for over 4 years now. With Amsoil you can go 25k miles or one year. I have taken oil analysis to insure that the oil is good. You can get Amsoil for about $7 aquart retail, or about $5.50 wholesale. I would not run my car longer that 4k on any oil that is not synthetic.

There is no problem switching back.

You may be lucky at the moment. But I wouldn't run more than 7,500 on any oil.
I have seen the affects of it first hand on alot of the Volvo's.
I have done the repairs to fix as well.

And I wouldn't even run it 15k either.

I have seen to many engines sludged up and almost burn the engine up.

We reccomend 3,000 miles on turbo cars and 5,000 on Non-turbo cars.

This way it keeps the engine clean.

Have you ever seen one on Amsoil?

I have been working with large diesels for many years. We run the oil 100k plus miles. We sample the oil every 10k miles and change the filters. I did the oil analysis on my volvo every 5k for the first year. Then I change it. The oil from the lab was still good for continued use after the year and 20k miles. I WOULD NEVER TRY THIS ON A NON-FULL SYNTHETIC OIL - I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO IT WITH ANY OIL OTHER THAN AMSOIL.

Most people are ignorant of oil and if you have not sampled it and sent it to a lab how would you know?

I have broken down engines on Amsoil run for extended drain intervals - no sludge at all. I would not run a turbo or supercharged car more than 15k miles on Amsoil. (Unless it is a tubodiesel and with proper sampling I have trucks over 100k on the same oil.)

I have had to put new engines in 2 cars because people did what you are doing by running the oil in the car so long.

They made it to about 100,000 miles then the enigne Broke.

I also see many cars come in using Amsoil and they have sludge as well.
