Had a CEL checked at Autozone yesterday and got P1181 "manufacturer control fuel/air metering". I have absolutely no idea what this is or what to do about it. Can someone please explain this so i can pretend i am smart when i talk to the mechanic. Thanks,

forgot to mention, it is a 2000 S80, non turbo

 

I don't have the crossover to Volvo codes home but might be a bad O2 sensor or mass flow sensor.

 

I have 2001 S80 have codes P1181 and P1171 Just replaced bank 2 sensoe 2 o2 sensor Cel came back on in less than 30 minutes Will get codes read again tomarrow Hope I only get one code Will let you know tomarrow how I come out

 

CEL just came back on cleaning did no good

 

Replaced my mass air flow sensor yeaterday have driven about 100 miles and cel has not come back on. Bought a reman Beck Arnley for 144.00 and installed myself. Looks just like the one I took off. It is a bosch housing and the inside is excatley like the one one I took off. Feel like this will clear up my codes P1171 and P1181
