Performance parts and upgrades ? S80 04 Awd turbo 2.5
Not really although you can find a few items on the parts websites (IPD, Groton, etc).
History time:
The S60 was designed using the the standard Volvo formula of a sporty sedan with some luxury appointments and quality materials.
The S80 was primarily an S60 bulked up but was aimed at a different crowd. It was considered an Executive Car.
First however, Volvo had been bought by Ford in 1999, the S80 was ready for launch and of course Ford wanted to get in charge. Now, the car comes out and the "fixers" are now bean counters from Detroit. You can see where the identity crisis developed.
So, the 80 weighs more but has the same engine. And that was not a new engine. It picked up a few ponies over the years but Volvo didn't have a lot of spare room to play with, push it much more and reliability would suffer. And volvo decided that Executives wanted a bit more cushy ride. Both of these work against performance.
Much of the 80's development went into electronocs, in fact there are reports that at it's introduction the S80had more electronics than any of it's contemporaries. The significance of that little factoid is that Volvo had it's hands full for several years with those gremlins. When it did try and boost performance with the 6 cylinder it mated it to a poor transmission. By 2006/07 they had things sorted but were undergoing finacial problems as Ford signaled it was ready to end it's Swedish experiment. The 80 remained relatively stagnant with the company keeping costs down.
Geely picked it up in 2010. The S80 eventually returned to it's Volvo roots as a more sporty luxury sedan. (really, I personally think they went to far with the V8 but they were fast.)
While I consider the S80 fairly peppy I wouldn't mind some upper midrange power to help pass in that 70/80 mph range. And as far as I can see, that's likely where I could get some with a more free flowing engine. But, cold air intakes are noticeably louder as are performance exhausts, both of which are out of character in that car, IMHO.
You have the power sucking AWD also, a great feature but certainly works against you.
Best bets, I think, are firmer aftermarket suspension - you lose the comfy ride but handling will be improved. And a full on stage 0 tune. It'll move just fine. Update the head unit - satellite, blue tooth, back-up camera, maybe get the refrigerator, (you won't go faster but having a cold one on hand is way more useful)
