Default Daytime Running Light Harness - 12V feed

Thanks for the info, and I think I am getting closer. I tested the LED's last night running straight to the battery and they worked fine, but without a switch/relay, they'd run non-stop, so that won't work for me. Now, i'm trying to find a color wire layout for the harness that holds the daytime running light. If I can figure out which color is the 12V feed, I can tap into it. Any ideas which one?

Got help from an stereo/auto-tuning shop. Turns out that Matthews Volvo site has the same schematic as ALLDATA for low beam lighting which includes the colors/wires associated with 12V and the ground. In this case (2009 Volvo S80), 12V is the BU/GN (BLUE/GREEN), and the Ground is BK (Black). Wiring up the LED's tonight! The garage even gave me the 'safe-clamps' so as not to physically splice the wire (thank goodness because I didnt want to risk my very generous warranty with the vehicle.)

Hey, I'm new to the forums! I'm from Idaho and have two kids(2 years and 1 month old) and a beautiful wife. I bought the s80 not knowing much about it or the issues most people are having, the car has an excellent crash rating so we decided to buy it, we only paid 4k for the car so its not that bad!

Nice headlights...how does it project onto the road @ night.
Ya same here ..number one reason i bought S80 was safety and it had turbo. Plus it i was surprised to see such a good mpg on such a big car and the fact that it can take any grade fuel.

Also i think you should change the front parking lights ( from yellow to LED). I did mine and boy its looks awsome.

OOh wait on closer look they look like LEDs to me..

I actually do have LED's as my front parking lights lol, i used some projectors from the retrofitsource, they have amazing projectors for a decent price, the spread is better than most on the road and the cut off is amazing!

just wondering. i have a pair of 36mm white LED and want to know where i should put it (trunk or inside footwell). that are the only 2 options i have where the 36mm LED will fit.
So should i put it in the trunk or in the driver/passenger footwell area.
Now in the interior where none of the bulbs are LED, so just putting these 2 LED in the footwell area might look a bit mismatch? But then since i dont use the trunk that much maybe that is not the right place..
I might do a full LED interior but that will take more time to find some good deal..
any suggestions???

I'm leaving it as is, as for the headlights, everything was custom made and painted by myself. As far as i know there isn't any black headlights available for an s80.

alot of labor time that's for sure, there are many DIY guides on the internet just find the projector that fits your needs. As for the paint, i just used color match from autozone.

I also bought night shade to do my corner lights to match the black theme, turned out pretty good and i'm always getting compliments from people.

Just an FYI, you don't need to bake your headlights, just take the retaining clips off and the glass lens just comes out, might have to fight with it but just be careful not to crack the glass.

Sweet! Thanks a lot. After installing some silicone hoses, and repainting some rims I picked up, the headlights are next on my to do list.

its called festoon LED. Now here are few IMP things one should note. I learned it - you can say it "the hard way"
1) For front and rear domes/reading/map lights (only) one should ONLY get error free LED or canbus LED or if you are buying a regular (not error free) then make sure you solder resistor to them because the LED will stay on lightly dim when the doors are unlocked or when the driving the car. But will go off only when the car is locked.
So now this is up to preference some people want to have that dim lit on. Its not very bright at all. i have left that dimness only for the back dome lights.

2) you are suppose to get 42mm Festoon size led. But i have right now 36mm size. And that does fit too however the metal prongs on the dome that holds the bulbs, jsut make sure that the prongs are close together. You can either do it by hand (might be tight) or use a pliers. Make sure you tighten the prongs just enough to insert and hold the shorter 36mm size. For 42 mm you dont need to adjust all these. But i found that 36mm are much cheaper than 42mm.

3) for door/front footwell you dont need error free type LED. And for front footwells area you again need festoon led and for rear doors its T-10 LED.

4) the glove box requires BA9s LED

5) the trunk is similar to front footwell which is 36mm LED

6) the reverse light require BA15s/1156 LED. I ordered that too and waiting for it arrive. Coming from China so it might take a month .

here is removal of led..that guy also shows how to remove rear, puddle and footwell led too. So check his other videos

anyways let me know if you have any ques.

Thumbs up 2000 s80 t6

This is my T6, since i was "little" i had always dreamed of owning such a car

300K ( runs like a new) , former owner used about 25.000 dollars in 4 years, to maintain and repair everything on it. Full servicebook. Has almost all optional at that time. Only thing is to change the hole interior to a full beige leather one.
( have already found it) , and have many future projects to come
