Default Qustion about RTI and TV

Could somebody please help me with following question? Is it possible to watch TV on front display when the car is equiped with TV receiver? When I select TV as source on radio, I can hear sound from TV channel, I can watch TV on displays in back, however fron display is always showing RTI navigation. Is there any way how to switch between RTI navigation and TV? The car is Volvo S80 2003.

Thank you,

Marcel

Sounds like you have a 2003 S80 Executive. I have a 2004 S80 Premier, which is pretty much the same thing. I recently had to diagnose a problem with my Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system and found this document to be quite helpful: http://euro.evisteon.com/uploads/eur...e%20Manual.PDF

If you look at the diagram on page 10, it looks like the "Volvo Tuner Module" connects directly to the Visteon "Control Module". The "Control Module" appears to have no connections to the Volvo Navigation System (VNS).

If you google for "volvo navigation system video", you will find 3rd party products out there that will allow you to watch video (TV, movies, etc...) on your VNS screen. It's not cheap though...

Thank you for response. This is quite strange, because last chapter in RTI user's guide describes optional TV receiver (which I have in my car) and it describes also remote control. This remote control does not work with Rear Seat Entertainment and it has buttons like picture, etc. There is also note that TV can be used only when vehicle is stacionary, which is also not true with Rear Seat Entertainment. From above it seems that it should be possible to watch TV on front screen, however this guide doesn't say how to switch between navigation and TV.

Thanks again.

Default S80 Executive and TV

Am I the only one who's been affected with the digital changeover in mid-June and losing TV in the car because of it? What has anyone done about it? Is there a fix?
