Random False Alarms and Blower Motor Running
My wife’s 2002 S80 has started having random false alarms – sometimes the alarm horn sounds, but usually the parking lights just flash – and we get a message that the alarm was triggered when we go to start the car.
The blower motor also randomly starts running when the car is off and locked up.
These issue have occurred separately for a couple of weeks and last night I went out and found the lights flashing and the blower running about a half an hour after my had parked the car.
Anyone have any ideas of what to look for to diagnose or how to fix?
Thanks,
Dave

My '02 S80 blower turns on after the car is parked, but I believe that is a normal function with the intent to dry out the condensation in the A/C system so things don't start growing. If the humidity has gone up in your area as it has mine, it likely started cycling on then. Mine runs frequently during the summer months after I have driven somewhere with the A/C on and the car has been parked for a few minutes. That is not a very technical explanation, but I think there is an explanation in the owners manual...I think. BTW...I set my alarm off all the time when the key fob is in my pocket.
