So I read the manual and I attempted to do this myself, and not one to force something, I am not sure if the metal tabs that are holding the headlamp enclosure slide up or pull back, the manual looks as if they pull up..

 

Squeeze together and jiggle while pulling straight towards back of car

 

That worked! I just can't get the plug off of the headlamp unit to completely pull it from the car.
