I just got my 2002 S80 and am having some transmission trouble. I have a question if it is going into overdrive on the highway...
While cruising at @65 the tach is up to around 2600rpm. Is this about right? It is a 2.9, NON turbo. also, are these prone to any trans probs? Mine has 146k and has the "service trans urgent" light on.

Sounds like your torque converters not locking in at 65 mine is doing about 2300. Witht hat many miles I would change out he transmission filter. the transmission this the s80 is the same as a grand prix just with a different bellhousing. 4T65E
