I have a 2000 S-80 and the ABS module needs replacement. Dealer charges about $900. The Volvo Used Parts place has it used for $200; dealer says that the software in the ABS is hard-coded for my vehicle and can't by used part because software won't work. Can I install the used ABS and then have software downloaded by dealer? Thx. Jim

 

dont know if you know, but you can get your ABS module rebuilt for 100$ (with shipping), and its like a 1 day turn around time i think.......

2002 and below is ABS module (just need to remove and replace no need software reload)and 2002 and up is a BCM (need to be reloaded to make it work properly)! The dealer is telling u lies when it needs software download for your car since your car is 2000 S80. Before u order from anywhere.. Make sure u knows that if the car have DSTC or STC. I hope this help

 

BBA remanufacturing on ebay will do a rebuild for $89 shipping included both ways. Also have good warranty.

I just had ours done at modulemaster and finished installing it about an hour ago... very, very, pleased with the results and customer service.
