Default S80 2001 Rear doors wont open from inside / outside

Hi,

When car was unloced the latches did not pop up and could not open rear doors from outside only from the inside, it had been like this for a few months.

Now when I unlock/lock the car the rear doors appear to unlock / lock makes all the right noises and the latch pops up/down, but the doors refuse to open from outside or inside.

Does any have any ideas, it's not the child lock that is off, I have also tried replacing the RMi3 Relay (deadbolting).

If the door cards have to come off does anyone have a guide with pictures on how to release the deadlock mechanism.

I believe the door cards will have to be completely destroyed to remove, anyone know the best place to cut through to try and make as little damage as possible.

see if you can pop off the rea seat bolster - that may give you access to the full panel. I had to do that once on an Audi and was able to pull the card off without opening the door.

If the lock rod moves, then the problem is inside the latch itself. But, I've never seen both fail at once. The rod might be moving, but not the entire travel.

If this is your problem (likely) than you have to replace the latch assembly.

Cheers guys,

I have seen that video but its for front doors, it appears that the deadlocks have come on and won't come off, tried several suggestions without having to remove door card which would be destructive as far as I can see as the clips are around the edge and are hidden when door closed.

Drivers rear door fixed itself for about a week and would open from both inside and out, but has again now stopped opening completely.
