RE: s80 has miss
Hi Nitrodog.
Do you have a warning on your onboard computer? If so it could be your coils.
Does it miss all the time or just under cetain revs?
Coilpacks can break down on certain revs so car may idle ok but not rev!
2 ways to test,
1) hook it up to engine diagnostic machine, if it is a coil pack it will tell you which one, if it is another electrical issue etc it will also tell you the fault. This is by far the best way of finding out and the safest!
2) if you don't have a machine and there is no message i would say it is highly unlikely that you have a coil down. However if it is you can take the cover of the top of the engine and by unplugging 1 coil at a time you will be able to tell which one is at fault e.g pull out coil 1 if the engine revs change then there is nothing wrong with that coil, plug back in 1 and unplug 2 carry on the process until you unplug a coil and the engine does not change tone, therfor that coil pack is not working! BE CAREFUL WITH COIL PACKS HIGH VOLTAGE!!!
Let me know how you get on or if the above doesn't fit it in with your problems.
