Default S80 Headlight Ballast

Having trouble keeping the ballast plugged in. Passenger side of our 3007 S80 with the HID bulbs. Thought about switching it over to halogens, but after some research I don't think that is a good option. This is my son's car he drives to college, and he has already gotten a warning ticket for his headlight being out. Any suggestions on how to keep this plugged in? Thank you in advance.

have you looked at the wiring connectors? are they cracked or is the catch tab broken? Check a dealer web store like tascaparts.com to see if you can source a replacement connector that can be patched in.

Sounds like either they were never clipped back in place correctly or the connector is broken and needs replacing.

Thank you. I had that thought today. Didn’t know if I could get just the cable.

worst case is go to a Pick-a-part yard (car-part.com can find you one near you with a 2007 vintage S80) and see if they will clip off a connector/ballast for you. you can then splice in the new connector (use solder and a shrink wrap insultation kit) and that should be it.

That is another option. Thank you.
