RE: S80 T6 2000
They are linked together. One stops the wheel from locking up while breaking and the other stop the wheels from spinning freely.
It is all sensed from the ABS wheel sensors. If one wheel is going alot faster than the other the STC kicks in.
If the sensor is dirty or bad the reading will be off.

RE: S80 T6 2000
To Lorawms or any one else who has had this problem; I am having a very similar problem with my 99 s80. A loud grinding noise coming from the driver side when I turn. It seems to have just started after going though some deep snow and running over hidden concrete bump that was not marked. While I am planning on taking the car in to be checked out as soon as possible, I was wondering if it is possible that is something this simple. I read in another forum that this noise may be normal. We have had plenty of slippery days here so far this year and I have never hear this noise so I am a bit worried.
Thanks for any help you guys can give.
