S80 Timing
Noob here. I really appreciate the info and advise from everyone in this forum. You are all a great resource.
Here is my issue:
I have a 2000 S80 (non-turbo) that had the head and valves replaced after a timing belt problem. When I got the car back from the mechanic, I noticed it was really sluggish (no low end torque and poor acceleration). I brought it back to the mechanic and he advanced the intake cam forward about 5-10 degrees. Acceleration was improved but it is still not right.
I have since moved and have called local service providers and dealers to set the timing correctly. They tell me that there is "some other problem" with the car and seem puzzled by my request.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for fixing the acceleration issue and getting the timing set correctly on the vehicle?
Thanks in advance.
