I have a 2006 S80 2.5 turbo AWD. I am wondering if there are two different oil filters for it. Reason is I bought a filter and the center hole seems too small. When I took off the old filter the center hole in the felt washer measured about 15/16". The new filter measures about 11/16". I was able to install the new filter because the felt washer compresses to fit the spindle. It was very hard to spin on the outer filter can. I am not sure if I was crushing the filter cartridge in the process. The part number of the smaller hole filter was 1275810. Can anyone shed light on this? Is the felt washer in the center of the cartridge meant to be a tight compressed fit around the center spindle? I remember installing some aftermarket cartridges and the outer can spins on easily, no feeling of crushing the element.

 

Go to IPD's website they have the correct filters for the 2.5L engine.

 

The IPD website lists an oil filter number 1275811, whereas the dealer gave me 1275810. I am unsure if they are the same or which is the correct one.

 

Look closer at the cross reference chart.

 

If you know the answer to my question, why not just state it, rather than giving some obscure clue to the answer.

 

There is only one filter for the S80, I have a 2006 2.5 FWD. Either part number should fit your vehicle. They do crush to fit when you spin on the plastic housing, causing the inner diameter to increase.
