Heater pad, replacing
Special tools: 115 8962 CRIMP PLIERS
Preparations
Remove the seat or the cushion / backrest
-Remove the relevant seat or the cushion / backrest. See Lifting the front seats in and out or Rear seat assembly .

Remove the four panels located above the seat screws:
Pull the front panels straight up. Pull the rear panels diagonally upwards and backwards.
Unscrew the four M10 screws.
Carry out operation Side panel Side panel

Replacing front seat side panel
Remove the height adjustment lever handle:
Insert a screwdriver at the rear of the handle.
Release the catches.
Pull upwards.
Install:
In reverse order.
Pull the front edge of the panel upwards.
Pull panel backwards.

Seat belt buckle end mounting and SRS connector .

Removing the SIPS bag control module connector
Note! Take care when separating the connectors.
If the connector breaks the whole cable harness must be replaced.
Note! Always replace the clip if it has been removed.
Press on the side so that the bag goes over the edge (1).
Separate the connector.
Bend the clip at the front edge (2).
Move the clip backwards.
Remove clip.

Disconnect the remaining connectors.
Remove the seat.
Note! To prevent electric static discharge problems:
When removing a seat from a car with side airbags, the seat must be grounded. This is due to the danger of static electricity.
When the seat is removed from its screwed joints and before it is lifted out of the car:
Strip a long cable at both ends.
Secure one end to the rear mounting on the seat (the metal colored mounting).
Secure the other end in the car or to the car lift.
Install:
In reverse order.
The seat must be tightened to the floor. Tighten to 48 Nm.

Important
Caution! The old heater pad must be removed first. A new heater pad must not be bonded over the old pad.
