hi everyone i am doing my first oil change on my 07 s40 bought it 3 months ago. I found a housing near the radiator that has a 36 mm nut on the top. Is this where my oil filter element is located ?

That sounds like it. If you pop the hood and look down straight past the air intake snorkel it should be a black plastic cap with a nut on top. I have to take the snorkel off and I use the appropriate size socket with extensions and a universal swivel to remove the filter cap.

yeah i figure that was it so i tried to loosen it but had no luck getting it off. So i took it to jiffy lube and they couldn't loosen it either. So now i am going to take it to the dealer and let them deal with it
