Wink Sharing a S80 Experience!!

So a couple a months ago our S80 got over heated the radiator broke causing the transmision fluid mixed to the coolant but thank god not to the transmision... me and my dad installed a new radiator but it keep the coolant to be very thick and brownish but it never mixed the water with engine oil and trans oil was red, never got mixed with water. As u can tell the coolant was almost like the color of a Yohoo chocolate drink and very thick, we took to a local mechanic and he said the head gasket broke and that we need to rebuild the cylynder head. he was gonna charge us 1600 for the job. We took the car to some place else and we bought a used cylinder head with new head gasket a coil pack and flow meter. when we pick up the car the mechanic show us the old head gasket and the other cylinder head and he ask us why the hell did we change the cylinder head and the headgasket we were like What the hell it was broke lol and he showed to us the headgasket was never broke the old one and head cylinder was ok... he charged us for the job 300 and we left the parts to him. like a 800 labor and parts all that needed to be done was to flush the entire coolant system........ Check always ur radiator for coolant loss...

also a little off topic alsooo I have a 2002 S60 T5 with 108000 miles running great no problems what so ever i ask a volvo dealer that if i can change the trans oil because it was brown but not it didnt smell burnt and they told me the trans oil never change in that model they told me to leave it like that I was shocked because i've been reading and reading and everybody flush the tranny wityh new oil and what they tell me it is notr possible what do you think guys...

they also say in the manual not to change the fluid in the S80 too and obviously thats stupoid because the thing has a filter in it and we all know that filters clog and need replacement eventually,

thats also why Volvo decided not to put a drain plug on the tranny pan... idiots

go ahead and drop the pan, replace the filter if your car uses one and refill the damn thing

with 78k~ miles on my old s80 t6 2001, i had complained of the transmission sticking as it shifts, well they did the trans flush on my car, and within a few thousand miles it needed a new transmission lol, i dont kno if it was a coincidence that this happened... I had too many head aches with my 2001 s80 t6, luckily I just got a 2007 s80 v8 awd and i have had 0 problems.
