Arrow Should I Switch to Synthetic? 103k Miles.

So I purchased a S80 in June and it's well overdue for an oil change. Currently, the oil being used is conventional (I think, nothing was said differently), I'd like to switch to synthetic though. Is this a good move with 103k miles on it? It's a 2001. I also noticed that I had to top off my oil recently, so I'm not sure if there's a leak or if the engine is burning it or if it's because I'm reaching 5,000 miles without a change.

Any suggestions, past experiences is much appreciated.

I'm a big synth fan. Being lazy, I would just pour some Sea foam in the crank case hop on the highway in 3rd gear for 1 minute(if you have a turbo) then drain and fill with synth and go for 5000K. That stuff is the automotive equivalent of a bran flake and prune juice breakfast.

No...at that point in the game I'd stick with what was used.

I would not take a car with a 100K miles that ran on dino and switched it to synth... you're asking for trouble with seals and leaks.
