My 2001 S80 is still under warranty. We just got the ETM replaced. While talking to the service manager, he said that some people get check engine lights if they do not use Volvo spark plugs. Is this true?

 

I have never heard or seen that before.

We use Bosch plugs all the time.

 

ya i had an s40, i replaced the spark plugs with bosch plugs, that german brand and the first few starts it was great. The next day i woke up started the car and the check engine light came on, and the turbo(when used) was buckling...... When i brought it in, Volvo knew there were non-volvo parts in their, and it almost damaged alot more...
