Default Speaker options

Hello,
I have a 2001 S80 2.9 with the regular 100w stereo. I noticed that the speakers in the doors are a 6.5 size, and seem to be attached to this mounting bracket which is permanently attached with plastic rivets. Is there any way to replace these speakers? The rear deck speakers are 8" and look like those can be replaced.
This car is nice, but i can't understand why there are hardly any screw fasterners - everything is riveted in place, even the mudflaps. How can someone upgrade or replace parts on this car?

You can drill out the rivets and install anything you want to use to replace the rivets.Check with some after market company's and see if they make any speaker for the car yet.

I have searched around, but no luck. The speakers appear to be permanently attached to their brackets (most speakers are screwed onto the brackets). Very odd. At least they are 4ohm though.

Has anyone else replaced their OEM speakers? If so, what did you use?

You will probably just have to make one fit.Just be careful the it isn't to tall and the window hits the speaker on the way down.

If money isn't an issue, let some professionals take care of it for you. They can make sure it's done right, and they know what they are doing. Plus, if something does go wrong, you can hold them accountable.

Buy the Dynaudio Speaker upgrade from Volvo.

Mail Order from several dealers will get you a discount.

Drop in fit and sound great.

Look up Dynaudio on the web...
