Hello,
I bought a 2000 S80 T6, that hasn't run since June 09. I got the car running good but need help with the sunroof. The owner had the sunroof replace because the glass broke and he said the cable was not hooked up? I noticed it doesn't seem like there is any power to it. The little lights up by the switch don't work either, but the two towards the front when you open the doors work. The lights in the rear seat on the headliner don't work either. The little red light on the dash "which I think is the alarm light" doen't blink either. All the fuses look good, I don't know where to look now?? Any help would be great, Thanks

 

The UEM might be bad. That is the rear view mirror assembly.
But first find the fuse in the fuse box that is for the UEM remove it and leave it out for a little while and install it and see if it works.

Also the alarm siren might be bad.

Well the alarm siren is in the R/F inner fender behind the liner. There really is not any way to test the siren itself. But the tell tail sign is after locking the car for a little bit and getting back in you will have a message. It will say alarm system service needed.

After reading you note about locking the doors I got to thinking, I just bought this car and it hasn't run since june of 09 and I notice the key fobs did not work. I just went and got new batteries for the fob and guess what, everything works great, the sunroof, interior lights, panic button. I overhauled the engine and now all is done and runs great,,,Thanks to all that offered there help....

 

You guys are awesome! I just bought a 2001 S80. The sunroof wouldn't work, I popped the battery in and out of the key fob after reading this, locked and unlocked the doors, and the sunroof worked like a charm! Gotta love it!
