Default timing belt question

i heard a lot about replacing your timing belt so i got a timing belt kit that includes the timing belt, tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. does the actually tensioner need to be replaced? Also i heard something about the serpentine belt could cause damage to the timing belt if that goes out. does anyone know anything about this?

Default RE: timing belt question

I would replace all three items as one would go bad it could cause severe damage. Also replace the serp belt as well b/c if it broke and got pulled into the t-belt it would be catasrophic. IMO for cost of these components replace all at once then your done with it.
