2 days ago the engine started to run rough. when at 30 -50 mph seems ok. at a stop it has a miss and runs rough.. Now at the same time this happened my transmition seems to be slipping.. If I excellerate at say 2500 rpms it shifts almost OK but a little slow.. I tried to excellerate and went to 4000 rpms but my speed increase is slow maybe half of what it should have be..Any ideas , it seems strange that 2 problems at the same time? (2001 s-80 with the 2.9)

Probably you have a Bad Coil. is better to get the car scan with and OBD II reader to know what's wrong with the car. Autozone does that for free. get it scan write the codes and repost back.

 

I had the OBD II check done, the error is P0011 ( timeing is out ) He thought that it needs a new timing belt. He said that it should be changed at 105,000 miles.. The car has 118,000...Hope this is helfull. Bill

 

If it isnt been done or you dont have an idea when it was change, u need to change that ASAP before it breaks. I would start by changing the spark plugs change the air filter and clean The throttle body, be sure that if you remove the throttle body buy the gasket for it.
