The Transmission Blues.
Hello All.
Reversed out of my driveway this morning (yr 2000 t6 s80), engaged drive. Started to move off the line then lost all engagement (swear I heard a faint bang/pop but cant be certain). Car will move forward if I manually select 3rd. But first and 2nd are basically like being in nuetral. 2nd gear faintly moves the car forward on the flat but any gradient will stop it. Reverse works perfectly
Some other symptoms Ive had leading up to have been a shuddering when going between 1st and 2nd during fast acceleration.
I dont have any transmission warning messages on my dash.
Fluid level is the same as ever. Colour is still reddish.
No transmission related obd codes, but thats with just a generic obd reader.
Are gear selections done electronically or is there some kind of mechanical cable?
Any similar experiences would be helpful. Dont have to be a wizz. Absolutely no one understands an automatic transmission.
