I have a 99 T6 with 110,000 miles. The Geartronic transmission was replaced at 50K, just before the warranty expired. I now notice rough shifting every now an then. Is this a sign I'm headed for $4500 transmission replacement? Should I start saving up? No error codes have popped up. Is there any service that can help a transmission beyond what they do at the 105K?

Hey tech, are there software updgrades for the transmission also. I flushed and changed the transmission filter at 93k miles. Does doing a software upgrade improve the transmission in any way.

 

If your car has never had any done yes it might improve the shifting of the trans.

 

Any idea how much it will cost at a volvo dealership.

 

Thats the Bad part. It is like $30.00 for the Parts and like 1 hour labor.

 

No. I did have the car in the dealership a couple of months ago for the 105K service. They didn't say anything about software updatges. I'll be sure check on this.
