Default Trim Paint Peeling

Hello,

I'm a new S80 owner and love this car. It was garaged for most of its life which I think has tons of benefits.

The only problem is the trim on the outside of the drivers door is peeling off. I posted this questions on the new member site and was directed here.

Its like some type of tape that is starting to peel off. However, maybe its just the paint. Is there someone that knows how to remedy this ?? Maybe there is some type of touch up paint

Thanks

that seems to be a common issue with most S80 of that time. Most people sand them down and re paint them

the area of the car in question has a decal type tape product applied, yes you can get it from volvo, it is not cheap, also if you have no experience in the removal and installing of said item dont attempt it, you can use a heat gun to remove the old and then respray the area with a rattle can from WURTH products called "euro trim paint" hope this helps, beefheart.

Never implied for the member to do " said item", just stating the fact of what most people on here which are DIY people do to fix that problem AND that it happens to be a common issue with those cars

I actually ordered the new vinyl overlays from myswedishparts. Didn't have the cajones to start sanding and painting the car

Thank you for all your comments - Yes, I am mindful of the skill it takes to do some of these fixes, especially regarding paint. Since I have not done this, I don't want to take the chance. Maybe later in volvo tenure. Likely get the tape from Volvo. No bad suggestions here - thanks,
