I have an 09 S80 and I haven’t been able to open the trunk for the last few months. When pressing the button above the license plate you can hear the actuator make a noise but that is all. I’ve tried to use the key in the manual opener next to said button but it wont release the trunk. Have also tried reaching into trunk from the rear seat and hooking onto the plastic emergency release and pulling it down, still nothing.
Currently the only access into the trunk is through the small hatch in middle seat. If I remember right the way to push the rear seats down/forward is by pulling back a tab located in ceiling of trunk. If that’s the case it will be very difficult to access from the middle seat, especially since the tab has to be pushed to the rear of the car.

Any suggestions for how to move forward with trunk release? I’ve researched this before but the things I’ve mentioned I’ve tried have been the fix for most users. Thanks.
