Default Turbo Control Solenoid

Just thought I would post this for anyone who hasn't seen it. I recently replaced my turbo control solenoid with the AC Delco mod which has been discussed on Volvospeed and Swedespeed. I've don't think I've ever seen it here. It really made a noticeable difference and for the money, $40, it really was worth it.

Basically the stock Volvo Solenoid is apparently notorious for not functioning properly or for lasting very long. The solenoid controls turbo boost so when it doesn't work properly you don't get maximum boost.
Part number is AC Delco 214-474. I ordered one off Amazon for $14 and the connectors from Ballenger motorsports, soldered them together to get a replacement unit for about half the price of the Volvo unit. I noticed while searching that the price for this Solenoid varies hugely from place to place and even on Amazon so just keep looking.
Subaru guys have been using this solenoid for awhile and it is apparently quite well made for the money. If you've got an extra $40 kicking around it might be worth trying. It definitely made a huge difference in my T6, my wife wanted to know what I did to the car. Nothing like a blind tester to see if something actually works.

Here's the connectors you need.

One note, the pigtails on the connectors I got were reversed color wise for polarity. You should check for the positive mark on both solenoids and try to match up the polarities.

Cheers!
