Turn signal died during repair. Broken electronics?

The turn signal lever broke on our 2006 S80 with Trip Computer but all the functions still worked and you could signal with the "nub" sticking out of the steering column.
I first replaced it with another solid stalk I had plus the old circuit board. The turn signals and headlight dim then worked but not the trip computer or reset button. I glued the old broken stalk and at one point everything worked except left turn because of some excess glue. I fixed that and now nothing works! This has been plugged/unplugged 8-10 times now and I wonder if I've damaged the electrical connector? I've tried the battery disconnect "reset" procedure. What should I do next?
