I have codes for Transmission Control Module (TCM) engine has 152k miles I accidentally ran the engine bone dry of oil a couple weeks ago I did fill it back up. However now my engine will crank but it won’t start. It shows codes for TCM and was shifting really rough when I was driving. The vehicle stalled on me twice at idle speed the second time it stalled I couldn’t get it running again and had to get it towed back to my house. There are no leaks or major signs of severe engine damage that I know of. I have tried using starter fluid and I do have fuel rail pressure. The engine oil level is higher than it should be and I need to drain some off. Is there something I am missing? Other than a new TCM do I need to check the spark plugs and coil packs. My buddy who is a mechanic told me that the transmission control module might be the main issue of it now starting. The scan tool that I am using says that the code for TCM will affect drive availability. I have the 2005 S80 FWD 5 cylinder 2.5T with 152k miles Thanks in advance ~ BasinChaser.
