Volvo s80 2007, keyless lock button
Hello. I need a help with my volvo.
When i trying to lock a car with a button on door handle from passenger side, everything works fine, but if i try to do that from driver side, front and rear buttons doesnt work? What can be wrong? is there are a common problem for that?
thank you.

My 2008 XC70 has the same problem. More often than not the rear door on the drivers side will work. The driver door works about 10% of the time. I was told that my iPhone conflicted with the receiver. When my iPhone is off and with no one around, the driver door sometimes works both locking and pulling on the handle to unlock. I am in the habit of putting my laptop bag in the back first and then getting into the car - so I have adapted.
If you solve this, please let me know.

No, problem is not caused by the phone. Everything works with in the right side of a car, but not driver side. On driver side, when i pull handle, door always unlocks, but never lock with the button. It seems that the fault can be caused by the button, or the wirings.

From what I read online, a few people have replaced their button actuator, or handle and have limited success.
I had the a dealer look at it but they didn't listen to me, were confused about the problem, and were not helpful. They quoted the replacement of the handle and actuator anyway - which I ignored.
There are at least three points of failure: the handle pull or button push tells a security radio receiver to authenticate entrance via the key fob; the key fob battery power and transmitter; the three security radio receivers.
It seems that since the key fob works inside and on the right side of our cars, that can be eliminated.
I think that there may be interference with the security radio receiver on the left side. My AM radio does not work after I added Sirius Satellite radio which may be a red herring as well.
I have come to love my car but it has these little electrical issues which are outside of the scope of your lock problem.
I will stay tuned...
