I am a new member to this site. I came to this site in search of some questions on my 2000 volvo s80 t6 twin turbo. I am a 16y/o and don't have close to no mechanical experience. I am hoping that someone on this site could help me out with a question that I have about my car. I am wondering what I am able to do to improve the horse power on my car without spending a fortune. Unfortunately, I do understand that this is a foreign car and parts for it are generally expensive. Any insight one what I can do to modify my car would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

 

I don't have an S80, so I have no business replying, but I think it's safe to say two things. First, the transmission you have really struggles to handle the amount of power you've already got. So transmission longevity is a problem. Second, the upgrade path for that engine would be (I think) higher pressure, which would require an ECU tune, ideally bigger turbos, and more free exhaust. There are a couple of other Volvo forums that are more performance oriented than this one, but the S80 T6 is not as popular for mods as for example the S70 T5's. For me that car is pretty powerful as it is for front wheel drive.
