Help, looking for advice on the above models between the years of 1996-2001.

Which one should I get and what are the pros and cons of the above models.

Will accept any and all advice good and bad. I just don't want to get stuck with a lemon.

 

I would say to get either a 1997 850 trubo or a 1998 S70 T5.
Those are to to best years and models for those years.

 

I agree with Tech. The early S80's had many problems. You'll also be able to pick up the 850 or S70 a lot cheaper and mods are easier to do.

 

I would also stay 95-97 850 preferrably turbo. These are indeed the best of the years, aka very little Ford involvement. DO NOT go all wheel drive unless you live where you need this feature. 850's are durable, dependable, good fuel economy and easy to repair. I am now on my fourth 850, two were totalled, one to my ex and I have a 96 turbo wagon that I adore. Have the car you choose thoroughly inspected, and be sure you can afford to have any serious repairs done. Also I run only Chevron supreme with Techron, milage turbo or not should be around 29mpg at 70 mph or less.
