It's pushing air out. Blowing through dipstick...

 

Clogged up PCV system. Try removing the oil fill cap. I think the noise will go away also.

 

Yes. It's the same thing when i move oil cap. I already bought the part. Just I don't know can I replace it by myself or i need mechanic... I am not realy good, but i can take of the parts and put it back if i have some pictures or instruction...

 

Here`s a couple videos for the 5 Cylinder basically the same as the 6 cylinder. It`s fair amount of work.

Exactly the same thing. Same noise same symptoms, blowing air when I put dipstick out. And I can't believe, all "mechanics" I asked, I described the simhtoms, everybody telling me that's engine blown out . Engine works perfectly, has 143000 miles on it.

 

Good luck if you try to do that yourself. Getting the intake manifold back on correctly is imperative and use a new gasket. Is their an independent Volvo shop near? I would think they would do it for around $500. If you do it yourself buy OEM Volvo hoses and the oil separator assembly. FCPgroton is good for parts. Don`t buy their cheap crap. Or anything labeled Pro Parts Sweden

 

I already spoke with vilvo mechanic, only original parts and hoses and gasket with labor 400$. That is a good deal...

 

Hey guys. Do anybody know what this is? I turned of the vehicle and this things worked like 10 more minutes and then they shut off. Car wasn't running and key wasn't on, I took key out of the car. I don't know what this part is and is suppose to work like that when the engine is off???? Thanks guys.

that noise is the fan for the ECM , sometimes it will stay on for a few minutes after you turn off the engine , it's used to keep the ECM cool....
