Volvo S80T6 Diagnostic problem
My Volvo 2000 Model S80T6 had been running really well when I woke one morning to find that the vehicle would start but every time I went to put my foot on the accelerater it would sound like it was flooding from too much fuel. The car was unable to be moved and I had to get it towed to the volvo mechanical repair shop. When the car arrived at the mechanics it wasn't looked at until the next day and the problem had gone. The volvo mechanic said that the diagnostics showed that the cat convertor was the only item coming up on the diagnostic check. The mechanic said that it sounds like the throttle body needs cleaning as sometimes they get stuck and this could cause the accelerartion problem. The throttle body was cleaned but unfortunately the problem is still with me as after two days off running really well the same thing happened and its back at the volvo repair shop. The mechanic said it sounds like the throttle module may have gone but wasn't convinced as the car should be running like crap if that was the problem. Any ideas what may be going on as it sounds like the mechanic really doesn't know what he's doing.
